Dee's medium has often been varied but she continually returns to acrylic, collage, and mixed medium. She sometimes feels nostalgic for a simpler life and will often take subjects from a cherished time and combine them with a contemporary overlay. Often, she will choose a haunting message to build upon, creaing a kaleidoscope which is multifaceted and best described as "whimsy with a message."
